don't go for Jacuzzi beach Villa!klemen_slo, Tirana, Albania

Amazing place, AMAZING food (specially if you like curry&spicy), amazing stuff member, everything is running nice and smoothly ....but DO NOT go for Jacuzzi Beach Villas, they don't have nothing with "beach", its just a marketing ...
Read More trick (they rename/add beach word in year 2009) They are very nice but far away from "beach". They (Jacuzzi beach villas) are divided in two parts (above 600 number, bellow 500). First part are located on area where boats are parked and you can smell gasoline and event see some stains in water. Villas above room number 600 are NOT on beach, but there is like 100 m of forest line between bungalows and start of beach, without any sea view when you are on terrace of your bungalow. This means every time you go for a beach you need to pack your gear and then do short walk. Villas above 650+ are slowly getting sea view from terrace. If you go for normal "Beach house" all of them are located on beach, with view on beach from you terrace. After few days we upgrade to water villas and this was moment that our holiday started. We complain to our local tourist representative and also to local stuff member, but complain was poorly manage, no personal approach, just one way (upgrade, full price) how to resolve issue. Recommendation: FOR SURE, IT'S AMAZING PLACE & EXPERIENCE, just don't go for jacuzzi "beach" villa. K

Loved, loved, loved the resort!! My daughter and I came from Australia to have some relaxing time for my birthday. Yes, the food is buffet style, loads of variety and a very high quality for buffet. ...
Read More We are both vegetarian and found plenty of choice for both of us. The room boy was very accommodating and kept our place very very clean. Service was amazing for my birthday!! When there was an issue I decided to put my concerns in an email to admin, they rang me the next morning and it was sorted out extremely efficiently and an apology made. Yes, as Stefan says you cannot get food at buffet outside times that meals are served. There is a cafe/bar open 24 hours to get meals outside these times. I found staff very flexible, especially when I decided to list my concerns succinctly in an email.

I must admit, for some people this must be the perfect vacation spot - to me, it wasn't. at all. I was booked into the Jacuzzi Water Villa and it was a beautiful and magnificent room. ...
Read More The stunning views and the jacuzzi made up for our long wait at the check-in. We really didn't like that everyone seemed to have the need to "show off". I honestly felt like there were just too many tourists around who had booked their vacation just to say they were there! What I think is strange is that the staff had their houses etc in the middle of the island, for everybody to see. Why isn't that separated? And why does everybody have to endour the stinking gases from the construction going on for the new house of the island owner? I must say, the hotel itself is quite big, many room sections and types. The Wok Alacarte restaurant was amazing with great views and the girls at the duniyespa are amazing, the water spa is especially extraordinary and the treatments are fabulous too. But still, we ended up spending our vacation hidden behind the walls of our villa, because we really didn't want to spend any time with snobby, loud people. We won't return, that's for sure. Don't expect privacy, btw! If you are a person that doesn't mind phony, snobby people - go ahead, you might like it.
More of a resort..... less castaway feeling!Ken P, Exeter, United Kingdom

Let's quantify this for you. This is a very nice place, beautiful actually, but it's a long way to travel for a paradise island to eat the usual 'samey' sort of buffet food for dinner that ...
Read More can be had at any all inclusive type place anywhere in the world. Am I being harsh, maybe. But the castaway away effect is lost when they have an astro turf 5 aside football pitch and a golf driving range all squashed onto a lovely little private atoll. Lovely place, but a bit too 'resort like' for us. No room for Robinson Crusoe here!
Nine days in paradiseStefan L, Stockholm, Sweden

Let us start of by stating that resort islands on the Maldives truly are the closest thing to paradise that we have on earth. At least that we have visited.
We stayed for eight nights and ...
Read More we had to wait for one and a half hours after customs for our speed boat to the resort. This was a real shame since we have already been travelling half across the planet (from Sweden) so we felt like getting there. I called the resort and they were polite but very disorganized in giving information.. I like giving a review in Pros and Cons because otherwise I could go on for pages. Actually our big complaints were the weather and the staffs unflexibility. Pros The island is absolutely beautiful, we ran three laps round the island every morning and it was superb running in the sand. Baby sharks swimming close to the beach. Infinity pool and the view from it is amazing, the pool area on opposite side (harbor side) had excellent divans facing the ocean and Mohamed our favorite waiter worked there. He was a wealth of wisdom and he was ever so fun to talk to. The space, the space, the space, felt like we had the island to ourselves and they said the hotel was full Overwater spa, ok it’s not cheap but a) they gave us a free 15 minutes welcome massage that could be upgraded and b) prices were normal street prices in Sweden but the service was top notch Hotel administration called my girlfriend on her birthday to wish her a happy birthday and in the evening we got a nice table covered in (plastic) flowers with candles and a birthday cake for dessert Snorkling from boat is free of charge Lunch had just closed when we came but hey gave us a voucher for an a la carte lunch, nice touch! A half bottle of champagne on ice was brought to our room on the second day Soccer game against staff was load of fun and taken very seriously by the staff Our Jacuzzi beach villa was lovely and romantic Fresh air conditioned gym Buffet contained a vast variety of food with different themes each night Cons Staff are not flexible, we wanted to eat outside and were met with a hand and them stating that outdoors is closed.Outdoors was closed for breakfast nearly all days. When we asked and gave them compliments and said that some bread or sauce was great and asked if we could have it next day the answer was always no! When food time was over for breakfast, lunch and dinner, everything was torn down in two minutes and they made no exceptions , they did not let you have anything. The food was quite bland and a little repetitive.

Our love affair with the Maldives began with an incredible bird’s eye view of the atolls as we arrived by seaplane, and we can’t see it ending anytime soon. For more magical moments, take a cruise on a dhoni, a traditional wooden boat, as the sun sets over blue-green waters and pristine deserted islands, and musicians pound their drums to attract playful dolphins.
