you will be overwhelmed by the wonderful resort! everything was amazing. The room was big and very clean. The food was delicious - there was a wide variety, you could not try it all in one ...
Read More meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were lots of activities and theme nights. There was lots of wildlife and we enjoyed the dolphin safari. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU GO THERE. I wish every day that I could go back! every day was just perfect!

This was our 2nd visit to the Maldives. Celebrating our 70th birthdays we stayed in Sangu water villas which were a very high standard ( though beware the bottom metal steps into the water were very ...
Read More slippery, but Lydia did warn us) and always ate in Sangu restaurant, met with a friendly greeting by Ali Nimaz who looked after us so well culminating in presenting us with a lovely birthday cake on our last night. Then to find Ashraf had bedecked our bed so beautifully with a fantastic birthday floral display was just magic! All the staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful especially Iresh in the bars and Hashim and Ram in the restaurant not forgetting Lydia our host at Sangu reception. We were disappointed not to meet Ken Flockhart but his influence was evident in the smooth running of the organisation. One concern we had was the tipping arrangements and whilst we tipped individuals who looked after us we felt there should be some means of giving a communal tip to all the staff, is there no way that you could devise a system for this. One other query, why is there a one hour time difference between island and Male. All in all a most wonderful holiday

We have just returned from our 4th time on the island. Fantastic. There are no words enough to describe how great it really is. Seaplane wait was only 1 hour. 1 minor thing 1 of our ...
Read More suitcases came later in the day due to overweight of the plane. But this was no big deal. At arrival we were greated by 7 staffmembers including even the GM Ken Flockhart which we were really impressed by. This reception was a new nice tough for us it makes you really welcome. Check in etc went very smooth as always. After that everything went super. The waterbungalows are the best. Sangu restaurant is lovely, good food, great service. A big thanks to our waiter Samir and the chef at the egg station (forgot his name), they made our dining excellent. The diving was great as well. A big thanks to all, but certainly Jenna Byrne who we dove with the most. She is great, very nice and a perfect dive guide/instructor. She showed us some great stuff. The repeaters cocktail is fun and a nice idea. Also topevent was the Gladiators. We were lucky as this was only the 3rd time but lots of fun and a good laugh. All in all a perfect stay and we will certainly come back for our 5th, 6th .... time. For us no other islands needed in the Maldives.

Like a de-con-struc-ted hotel the resort is spread very efficiently between three areas. Basically; the centre jetty and main hub, the east 'O'Resort and west Sangu Resort, with east, west, and central reception desks, at which, ...
Read More you can dial up a golf trolley Taxi to travel around with the most charming and pleasant drivers in the world!. In my opinion the west side is the best (Sangu) and most peaceful. Fabulous sunsets and a sandbank which extends out as far as you dare walk!. I concluded that I would have been contented to stay in any of the accommodation, beach bungalow, jacuzzi bungalow. For our stay we spent ten days in one of the premium water villas, a real treat, luxury living with snorkelling (a type of underwater bird watching!) at your doorstep, (you can take or hire the kit), sun veranda with loungers and lapping gentle waves to relax and soothe you to sleep. Facilities in the villa are very good. The bed was extra wide with crisp clean linen ceiling fan and air con, when necessary. A mini bar with an all inclusive selection and option selection of wine and spirits if you dig it. House bloke Issmail (Issey, to his buddies) made everything perfect and deserved a tip for which he reciprocated with a delightful towel made doggy! And a flower petal turn down the following evening, delightful!. The restaurant and bar are both quiet and calming with an extensive selection of dishes, freshly cooked fish and deserts to suit all palettes or moods. Service to your satisfaction, nothing is too much. Our allocated waiter Mondy was superb, ask for him by name! Positives- Sangu resort is quiet and relaxed with good service and food. Bar lounge has a dimly lit quiet peaceful ambience and is very conducive to relaxing with a cocktail or two. Beach is incredible. Staff are always helpful and polite, you will eek out your favourites as you go!. Negatives- No real worthwhile comments this holiday did exactly what it was intended to do which was to regroup our thoughts whilst stepping outside the regular humdrum of our normal routine. By the way-watch out for the sun!! treat it with respect according to your own limits, it's a real killer in the afternoon. All tolled a real lifetime treat!.

We had a mixed experience on kuredu which after a difficult start ultimately turned out to be a great one.
First the bad part - we booked the holiday late, the day before we arrived, with the ...
Read More holiday still being sold on booking.com. When we arrived at the airport we were advised, after waiting around for 3 hours, that in fact it wasn't possible to get to kuredu as all the seaplanes were full. We were v angry about this because we felt the holiday should not have been sold if it wasn't possible to get there. We lost one day of our holiday as a result & were sent to stay in a dive of a hotel near the airport. We felt a little abandoned as we had no idea where was good or bad to eat in the area, however after talking to the manager in the maldives at length they paid our dinner & apologised for the inconvenience. So now the good parts - the next day we were flown to kuredu & it's impossible not to forget any negative feeling when you arrive in such a paradise. The island is spectacular, clean and well kept - we had stayed on meeru another holiday & kuredu is a level above, everything is perfect. To the credit of kuredu the manager upgraded us to a sulthan villa for the remaining 6 nights as an apology for the mishap the day before. The sulthan villa is an incredible experience. It is a small house with its own private pool & is the epitome of luxury. It is a really incredible experience to be able to come back in the evening & swim in your own lit up private pool under a sky full of stars. The bathroom is outdoor & you can feel immersed in nature. The buffet is fantastic - we went half board - a massive selection of fresh fruit & great fresh fish every night. There are also romantic tables on the beach, so there is really no reason to book the other a la carte restaurants. Like other Maldivian Islands the beach on kuredu is pristine white & it's easy to feel isolated. The sea is calm, hot and no jellyfish anywhere to be seen. The reef is right next to the beach & easy to see sharks, turtles & lots of colourful fish. We stayed during st valentines day. The couples massage may not be to every couples taste for romance, depending on how comfortable you are seeing your partner being massaged by a woman!
