When to go to the Maldives The Maldives has a sunny, tropical climate all year round (hottest in April, coolest in December). High season is January-April, low is June and July; the monsoon season runs from May to September.

Please note that in some instances proof of recent marriage may be required upon arrival at the hotel and that you will need to mention that you are honeymooners prior to departure.

When to go to Thailand Thailand has a sunny, tropical climate. March to May are generally the hottest months whilst November through to February are the coolest times of year with less rainfall. High season is December to April, low is June to September; the monsoon season runs from June to October.

When to go to the Caribbean The Caribbean and Mexico both have a sunny, tropical climate. The hurricane season officially runs from June to November, but they tend to be more frequent in August and September.

The weather differs across the different Caribbean islands but generally the winter months are the driest and sunniest. High season is December to April, low is May to November. Mexico is hottest in June to October, coolest in December to February. High season is December to April, low is May to November.

If you have your heart set on a Caribbean honeymoon, and your wedding falls during hurricane season the southern island of Aruba in the Dutch Caribbean and also Tobago lie below the hurricane belt. So although there’s not a totally safe zone, these are at less risk of hurricanes.

When choosing your honeymoon destination, don’t forget to:

Book your honeymoon package early to avoid disappointment, to ensure you get your first choice of hotel and flights, especially if you’re getting married during peak times such as July and August or Christmas and New Year.

Remember that not all destinations have year-round good weather and the month you’re getting married may not be the best time to visit your chosen destination. If you have your heart set on a specific country, you may wish to delay your honeymoon or even set your wedding date to suit your honeymoon destination.
