Whether you are getting married or renewing your vows Hayes and Jarvis can make your special event run smoothly.
With weddings in the UK becoming more expensive, it has never made more sense to consider a wedding abroad, and it’s not just the price you will want to consider. We can help you choose a small ceremony for two or a larger gathering with your friends and family there to help you celebrate.
It’s your special day and we understand that everybody has a different idea of where that once-in-a-lifetime event should be. While one couple’s dream wedding is on the white sandy shores of the Caribbean, others may prefer to renew their vows among the breathtaking scenery of Thailand or the Maldives.
It is our aim to present you with your perfect event where everything falls into place, and with our weddings team, you can be sure that your special day will run smoothly, taking away all the stress of planning a wedding.
The picturesque, white-sand beaches on each Caribbean island will ensure every wedding photo will come out perfectly. Enjoy a sunset cruise afterwards for an added romantic touch. Or why not consider the beach resorts on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. These hotels are used to hosting large groups, so you and your wedding party can be assured of the warmest of welcomes. You’ll find many hotels offer free weddings in these destinations too.
The climate and friendliness of the locals in the Indian Ocean lend themselves perfectly to weddings abroad, as do free and great value wedding packages, for example at LUX* Belle Mare in Mauritius (main image). Many people choose the Maldives to renew their vows in paradise and combine it with a spectacular holiday they might not have had when they first married. Both can be twinned with Sri Lanka for an extended holiday or honeymoon experience.
The USA offers a whole host of destinations to tie the knot, from Las Vegas to New York and even Hawaii. Why not take a helicopter ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon or tie the knot in a chapel and get an iconic pink Cadillac to take you to the ceremony in Las Vegas. Or why not get married in the lush surroundings of Central Park in New York? With several different locations choose your perfect location in this most romantic of cities.
Get married on Safari
The intimate atmosphere and private location of Jock Safari Lodge in South Africa’s Kruger National Park is perfect for a romantic wedding. Imagine saying your vows surrounded by the African wilderness and only your loved ones. The savannah may be untamed, but the lodge has 12 luxury suites, a relaxing spa and a dedicated team of chefs to make your wedding day special.
Get married in New York
New York is one of the most romantic cities in the world and Christmas is, to many, the most magical time of the year, so why not combine the two for your wedding? We can arrange for your ceremony to take place under the glistening lights of the gigantic Christmas tree at the famous Rockefeller Center for a day full of glamour and wintry romance.
Get married in Thailand
If the wedding of your dreams involves a secluded beach set among coconut groves, with a backdrop of jungle-clad cliffs then Rayavadee in Krabi, Thailand is your place. Rayavadee’s unique Grotto, a section of the beach nestled under ancient limestone cliffs, is a spectacular setting for your big day - and with the option of a water or Bhuddist monk blessing ceremony, weddings don’t get much better than this.
Hindu Weddings in the Caribbean and Mexico
Enjoy the extravagance, colour and excitement of an Indian wedding with Hard Rock Hotel’s themed experience; choose this for your wedding at Punta Cana, Riviera Maya or Cancun. Treat your guests to an Indian-themed wedding banquet and amaze them with the intricate decoration and designs that the hotel will provide. And, of course, dance through the night with the excellent live entertainment.
Ceremonies, extravagant or intimate, aren’t reserved just for newlyweds. If you’re looking to celebrate a special anniversary in style or perhaps have that dream wedding and honeymoon you couldn’t have when you first got married, then mark the special occasion with a renewal of vows ceremony.
Renew your vows in destinations where you cannot get married, such as on the beach in the Maldives, or invite friends and family to luxury resorts around the world for a huge celebration of the time you’ve spent together so far. Whatever the occasion, we’ll help you find the perfect place to renew your vows.

The table refers to each destination as a whole but some hotels and resorts may have different requirements, which can change at any time, it is therefore advisable to speak with your weddings specialist.
Additional charges will apply if documents have to be legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. This is only applicable in some destinations. Documentation can change without prior notice, the information given at time of booking is correct. In some destinations, it is necessary to visit a local government office prior to your ceremony, which is not included in the cost of your wedding package.
Please contact your local embassy for Visa information and applications.
Laws and requirements are subject to change at short notice. We cannot be held accountable for any changes in legislation and for any additional fees that may be incurred as a result. However, should we be informed of any changes to the documentation process once you have booked, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Translation of documents may be required before you leave the UK for some destinations.
All marriage certificates are issued in the local language and controlled by the local authorities. Should they not be available before your return to the UK they will be posted to you. This can sometimes take a number of months. Additional charges will be incurred for translations upon your return to the UK.
Minimum residency is 3/4 business days (Monday to Saturday). Arrive in resort by 3pm for the day of arrival to be considered your first day. Compulsory blood test is taken in resort (local charge). Documents translated in resort (local charge).

Divorced women cannot get married again until at least 10 months after the divorce is finalised, unless her new husband is the same man she has divorced. Once documents have been legalised at the FCO, further legalisation and translations are required from the Dominican Republic Embassy, and this cannot be done any earlier than 3 months prior to the wedding.
We get a number of enquiries regarding our weddings and honeymoons, so we are sharing our answers to your top questions.
Is our marriage legally recognised in the UK?
Yes. Once the marriage is registered in the country where the ceremony is taking place, your marriage is legally recognised in the UK and your certificate is proof of this. This may vary if you are not a British Citizen and we recommend that you contact your local embassy.
Can we be married abroad if one of us holds a non-UK passport?
Yes, however there are some exceptions so please call our wedding specialists or check with the relevant embassy for current information.
How many weddings take place a day?
This will vary between destination and hotel, from one every hour to one per day. Please call for more information.
Which name should I travel under?
The bride should simply travel under her maiden name for the entire journey because the name on the ticket must be identical to the name on the passport. Upon return simply have your passport amended to your married name.
What is included in our wedding?
The holiday and wedding price we confirm to you at the time of booking, plus the ease of knowing our expert weddings team are there for you. Some hotels may change some inclusions; however you will be notified of any changes at the earliest opportunity. Free weddings may include different items to paid weddings and may not be combinable with other special offers at the hotel. They may also exclude legal fees which will need to be payable in resort.
Can we invite guests to our weddings?
Yes. Please advise us of the number of people attending and we’ll do the rest. If your party is not residing at the same hotel some additional charges may apply, especially for all inclusive resorts. If the hotel where your ceremony is taking place is ‘Adults Only’, children may be accepted for the ceremony, permission must be granted prior to the big day. Please call for more information.
Where will our wedding ceremony take place?
The ceremony will generally take place within the grounds of the hotel. Some hotels have a choice of locations, such as gardens or the beach, others may have a designated area. If you book your wedding for a public venue, this will be re-confirmed with you in-resort. This is subject to local regulations and weather conditions.
Can our wedding take place on any day of the week?
Monday – Friday is when most wedding ceremonies take place. This excludes public holidays. Please check with the relevant tourist board for current information on national holidays in your chosen destination.
Will the date and time of our wedding be confirmed prior to arrival?
We will be able to confirm the date of your wedding prior to arrival; however the time will be confirmed to you on arrival at the resort. A preferred time can be requested for you.
Will we need to complete any paperwork in resort?
Paperwork will need to be completed and sometimes visits to relevant offices are necessary and taxis to and from will come at an extra charge. We may also request additional information from you in order to confirm the wedding with the hotel.
Who will conduct our ceremony?
The majority of our weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending upon the resort, for example, a Celebrant, Minister or Registrar.
Can we have more than one copy of the marriage certificate?
Yes. You can request this in resort and there may be an additional charge. Certain destinations can take up to four months prior to process your marriage certificate
