A short drive up the Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Barbara is a pretty town built in a Spanish Colonial style. With scenic beaches, art galleries and quirky boutiques, Los Angelenos head here on the weekend for a break from city life. The dining scene is excellent too, with restaurants serving fresh seafood and all-American classics. For such a small place, there's a surprising number of cultural attractions, from the Mission Santa Barbara to the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.
