Holidays in Thailand
Little can prepare you for the flavours and colours you will experience on holidays to Thailand, a land of fascinating culture and stunning natural beauty. Famous for inspiring Alex Garland's novel, "The Beach", it won't take you long to find your own idyllic retreat, with untouched sandy coves and endless beaches dotted around the coastlines and the south's exotic islands out to sea.The chilled vibe of Phuket's national marine parks and coral reefs offer some of the best diving and snorkelling in the gulf, whilst Krabi is ideal for kayaking and its limestone cliffs will challenge the most experienced rock climber. Deep in the mountains of the north you will discover a different world, where jungle villages lay hidden, and elephants and bamboo rafts are the only rush hour you'll see.
But the real must on holidays to Thailand is a visit to Bangkok, where palaces back holy temples and street sellers barter beneath the shade of cloud-piercing skyscrapers. Take in the contrasting sights and sounds of the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Floating Market and the colourful nightlife of Patpong district.
