When To Go
If you don't mind travelling during the rainy season, April and May offer great value accommodation. Although these months see the most rainfall, the rain will often fall in relatively short (although heavy) morning and/or evening showers and it is still possible to catch the sun between.
Best Time to Go
Although Tanzania enjoys warm temperatures year round, if you are on safari the best time to go is between June and July when the annual migration if wildebeest and zebra make their way through the Northern Serengeti plains.
The most popular months are January to February and June to October. The latter coinciding with the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in Kenya.
The hottest months are October to February with temperatures averaging in the low thirties.
Tanzania has a tropical climate with warm temperatures all year round. The warmest months are October-February when temperatures range from the mid twenties to high thirties and these months are perfect for unhampered game viewing. Like it's neighbour Kenya, Tanzania has two rainy seasons. The long rains can fall any time between late March to late May, while the short rains occur intermittently between November and December.
