Singapore Holidays

Overview

A melting pot of cultures, blending Chinese, Indian and Muslim tradition in a modern metropolis to rival any Western shore, Singapore is definitely one of the 'must see' destinations in the Far East. From colonial monuments to the thriving cultural communities of China Town and Little India to the renovation of Sentosa Island with Resorts World including Universal Studios and the enhancement of the Marina Bay area, Singapore is catapulting into the International spotlight. Throw in stunning beaches, great shopping and fantastic nightlife and Singapore holidays really do have it all.

Singapore Highlights

Raffles: Declared a National monument in 1987, the legendary Raffles Hotel stands as a jewel in Singapore's crown. No visit to Singapore would be complete without sampling a Singapore Sling at the world famous Raffles Hotel Long Bar.

Shopping: The Great Singapore Sale held every year from late May-July is a major shopping event organised by the Singapore Tourist Board where many malls and stores extend their opening hours and offer excellent discounts and additional benefits for tourists. Orchard Road is a must visit and is crammed with modern malls and department stores. If you're looking for more traditional purchases, head to China Town and pick up paintings, trinkets and silks from the bustling street stalls.

Night Safari: See the drama and mystery of the jungle come alive at the World's premier night safari! Watch Cape buffalo, blue sheep, striped hyena, rhinoceros and more roaming freely through the lush grounds. Set in 40 hectares of dense secondary forest the night safari is a thrilling experience for all.

Sentosa: Located just fifteen minutes from the city by car, ferry or cable car, Sentosa is Singapore's own island resort gateway and Asia's favourite playground. Totally revamped into an amusement park complete with nature walks, butterfly parks and water slides, you can even find Universal Studios here with incredible rides and shows. Framed by coconut palms, Sentosa's beaches are a true tropical haven perfect to relax after a day of fun and excitement!

Food: With such a rich multicultural heritage, Singapore has a mind-boggling range of cafés and restaurants serving everything from Chinese to Indian, Lebanese to Vietnamese and Italian to Spanish cuisine. Make sure to try the hawker food stalls which are strictly monitored for hygiene and are a great way to sample tasty local delicacies.
