Isles of Singapore
Just a stone throw away is one of Singapore’s favourite attractions - the Sentosa Island. This little getaway island caters to everyone's needs and you will never run out of things to do or see. Pulau Ubin is another beautiful island, accessible by a bumboat ride, which offers a strong contrast to the modernity of mainland Singapore. Hop on a rented bike and explore the island's granite quarries, prawn farms and laid back villages.

Nature
Set out on foot to the leafy shelter of the Botanical Gardens where you can find more than 10,000 types of tropical flora. Or trek at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, one of the world's two nature reserves located within city boundaries (the other is in Rio de Janerio) and enjoy a scenic picnic at Singapore's highest peak on Bukit Timah Hill. For bird lovers, bring along a binocular and head down to Sungei Buloh Wetland reserve where you can watch migratory birds (Sep-Mar) coming from as far as Siberia.

Local tastes
From Chilli Crab and Chicken Rice, to Malay style Satay, drenched in peanut sauce, and Indian Roti Prata bread, dunked in fragrant curry sauces, you will be overwhelmed by the explosion of favours in Singapore food. Some of the best places to feast on local favourites are Lau Pa Sat, Newton Circles or Chinatown foodstreet.

Evening flavour
You’ll find nightclubs, bars and restaurants galore, especially along the riversides of Boat Quay and Clarke Quay. For an evening of utter indulgence, enjoy Singapore Sling at the world-famous Raffles Hotel's Long Bar and party at the world's biggest Ministry of Sound.

The mammoth shopping malls of Orchard Road are a shopaholic's wildest dreams come true. Check out the new VivoCity, Singapore's largest multi-experiential retail and lifestyle mall. For buys more true to Asia, head to Little India, Chinatown or Arab Street - all treasure troves for ethnic jewellery, aromatic spices and Far East incense. If you need something in the middle of the night, head down to Mustafa Centre – the only 24-hour shopping mall in Singapore!
