Beaches: A 1,700km coastline providing untouched beaches is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the warm waters which are ideal for snorkelling. The water rarely seems to be rough so it is perfect for children too.
Desert Playground: With dunes rising to nearly 200 metres the desert is ideal to enjoy a barbecue in a Bedouin tent and take in the blanket of stars, go dune bashing, take a came ride or ride around on quad bikes. It will be guaranteed fun for adrenalyne junkies or a relaxing evening in the open.
Nature: Oman has a wealth of activities to keep you busy, but what some find most surprising is its wealth of animals that visit the shores. Whale and dolphin watching is a regular occurrence in these warm waters year round. Five of the seven species of sea turtle also make that treacherous journey to the shores to lay their eggs. 55 days later when the eggs hatch it is a popular night time show to watch the turtles clamber to the sea.
Shopping: Oman is a land where old meets new and the shopping proves this. From vast shopping malls with all of your well known brands to traditional markets selling craft goods and gold and silver, the variety is outstanding.

Oman is hot year round, but it is very pleasant in the Spring and Autumn, with guaranteed sunshine to bask in.

Most people choose to visit Oman in the spring and autumn avoiding the months that tend to have slightly more rainfall in January and February and the high temperatures of the summer months, June to August.
Hottest
Oman is a dry desert country and the temperatures are high year round. The hottest months are June to August reaching well over 40ºC.
Climate
Oman experiences sunny and warm weather conditions year round. The annual rainfall is very low, with the most falling in the winter months. Temperatures during this time are usually a pleasant 25-35ºC. The summer months of June to August can see the temperatures soar to over 40ºC.

Flight information
There are a number of carriers offering flights to Oman from the UK.
Direct Carriers: Oman Air offers a direct service to Muscat from London Heathrow.
Indirect Carriers: Emirates, British Airways, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air and Qatar Airways all offer indirect services with a stop over in the Middle East.
Departure Tax: An international departure tax of OMR3 must be paid when departing Oman.
Visa information
