Shopping: Enjoy bartering for leather, pottery, jewellery, spices, vanilla, tea and rum. One of the main industries on the island is textiles and clothes are a great buy and excellent value from the stylish boutiques of Grand Baie to the craft market of Port Louis.

Climate
Mauritius has two seasons summer and winter. As a tropical island rain is common, but sometimes showers can last for an hour late afternoon and dry up very quickly. With temperatures in the summer months of December to April reaching 32ºC. The northern and eastern coastal areas are relatively warmer and drier than the southern and eastern coasts.
