Travelife Sustainability System
Working alongside the Federation of Tour Operators, we are encouraging our hotels to adopt the Travelife Sustainability System. This helps us recognise hotels which are most sustainable with regards to their environmental and social impact.
The best performing hotels receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold Travelife Award. An easy way to find our Travelife Hotels is to use the free search box at the top of the page.
Bronze
Bronze is awarded to hotels that have reduced their impact on the environment and treat their people fairlySilver
Silver is given to hotels that meet all the bronze criteria and also play an active part in helping the local community and the environment.Gold
Gold is awarded to hotels that demonstrate advanced sustainability practices, seek continual improvements and actively communicate their progress.
We have particularly selected:
- Katathani Beach Resort, Thailand
This hotel has already achieved Travelife Gold Award for being at the forefront of sustainability, introducing water conservation, energy efficiency and waste reduction projects, as well as local community social welfare programs in the aftermath of the Tsunami. - Baobab Beach Resort & Spa, Kenya
As part of its commitment to community development, this resort supports a number of local projects, including UPENDO – a home for orphans in Ukunda, Kenya, providing a stable environment for children. The resort’s efforts towards sustainable energy, water conservation and recycling have also contributed towards its Travelife Gold Award. - El Dorado Royale, Mexico
This hotel supports its local community by promoting local products, they also donate to local community projects. The lighting used through out the resort is energy efficient and they use water saving devices to reduce its consumption.
We do hope that our continuous efforts to promote sustainability will encourage more hotels to aim for Gold Travelife Awards in the next few years.
